  • Peace of mind and industry best quality-RDC Dosimetry

The TASLIMAGE track analysis System for Neutron and Radon Dosimetry is “industry-best” by means of self calibration and background determination on each individual dosimeter. Software scans the plastic at a high magnification, providing an improved quality track image with enhanced background features over all other methodologies.

Each feature located in the image is analyzed separately by the program. Numerous track characteristics are measured to provide reliable discrimination between etched tracks and background features.

A significant benefit of the analysis of the track parameters is that the system automatically accounts for variations in the individual dosimeter track registration sensitivity, background and neutron energies by virtue of the differences in track parameters. Self-calibration characterizes an individual dosimeter to its own track registration sensitivity. The track density is related to dose by reference to sets of calibration exposures residing in the algorithm.

Dosimeters that have received a significant dose are self-calibrated and do not rely on calibration dosimeters to measure fading that may occur during exposure of 3-6 months depending on ambient temperature and humidity levels. Neutron energy is accounted for by virtue of the differences in the resulting track distributions for lower energy incident neutrons. This eliminates the need for correction factors for various incident neutron energy spectra.
