ROCK – Ride On Center for Kids – is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing equine-assisted activities and therapies for children, adults and veterans in Central Texas. Founded in 1998 and accredited by the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.), ROCK serves over 250 clients and their families annually. ROCK is situated on 40+ acres less than four miles from the heart of Georgetown.
EQUINE-ASSISTED ACTIVITIES AND THERAPIES INCLUDE:
Hippotherapy (Physical Therapy & Speech Therapy)
Veterans Programs, including ROCK On Veterans
School Programs & Summer Camps – Equine Facilitated Learning
Research in partnership with institutions of higher learning
Ranging in age from 2 to 91, services are provided for individuals with many different physical and cognitive disabilities.
Our mission is accomplished thanks to the passion and commitment of more than 300 volunteers aged 14 or older who come to ROCK weekly. Volunteer opportunities include working with horses and participants, office assistance, barn maintenance, landscaping, fundraising and special events. Training is provided and experience with horses is not required.
PRIMARY FUNDING SOURCES
As a result of generous community support and grants, services are able to be discounted by 60% and further financial assistance is often available. ROCK On Veteran fees to participate are covered 100% through fundraising programs and grants.
